About Intelligence Bureau

The Intelligence Bureau (IB) is India's internal intelligence agency. It was rearranged in 1947 as a Central Intelligence Office under the Ministry of the Interior. The reason for the assumption may be that Major General Charles McGregor was appointed to Shimla in 1885 as Quartermaster General and Head of Intelligence. The objective then was to monitor the deployment of Russian troops in Afghanistan, anticipating a Russian invasion of the British Indies through the northwest by the end of the 19th century. In 1909, the Office of Indian Political Intelligence was established in England, which was called Indian Political Intelligence (IPI) from 1921 in response to the development of Indian revolutionary activities. It was a state-run supervisory and control bureau.

The IPI is jointly managed by the India Office and the Government of India and is jointly reported to the Public Prosecutor and Secretary of the Indian Office of the Ministry and Director of the Intelligence Bureau (DIB) in India and maintains close contact with Scotland is. Yard and MI5. Rajeev Jain is the current director of IB, who has held the post since January 1, 2017, Rajiv Jain is a 1980 batch officer of the Jharkhand Police Cadre, who took over from Dineshwar Sharma on January 1.
